thinking for one's self..a thing of the past?
If the media says it, it must be true
A common misconception..or belief? Well lesse...Redbook, Glamour, ect.. confirm that the only beautiful woman is a bone thin size 0 with little to no bustline. Playboy, Penthouse, ect...confirm that the only beautiful woman is thin with boobs to hell and back. Legs, Legworld...ect...want us to believe that anywoman that wears heels and stockings are perfect, but even those gals are thin with huge corsetted breasts. These magazines foster those ideals and they are followed like sheep. Then there are other examples, the Pentacostal churches think that women should never wear make up, britches or use styling products because it shows vanity and thats a cardinal sin. Then on the other hand, Max Factor says that a woman can enhance her beauty by using their makeup and their ads always show a woman being admired by men because they use Max Factor." Blue is the color to wear this spring" one magazine will tell you. Who decided that? Did they use a mathematical formula to come up with that? The stores sell millions of dollars of Blue clothing because everyone wants to be wearing the "color to wear this spring". French manicures are out this fall, ok...so it doesnt matter how much I like it, it's not in fashion so I cant? Men are'nt exempt from suggestion. Men's fashion mags want them to dress like the cover guy, wear his cologne (no matter how many women curl their noses) and be built just like the men in the ads. Well guess what? not all men are built like that or have hair like that or are comfortable dressed like that! Shocked? Does that mean that most men arent attractive to women? NO! I used to be a follower, a sheep locked in the chain gang until one day I realized, "Hey, I'm not any different than the blonde next to me!" Screw that! So when will the rest of the world wake up from its trance? This is the Land of the Free isnt it? Why let someone else dictate to you who is beautiful, or right, or strong, or funny, or anything else? If I dont wanna wear ruffles or bleach my hair blonde, then I'm not gonna! If I want to eat a friggin carb, then I will. If I wanna drink Bud instead of Bud light, even though it tastes great but is less filling then pour my freakin Bud and deal with it. I think a man's attractiveness depends ENTIRELY upon what is going on in his head( the one between his shoulders) and not if he's wearing a designer suit or jeans. I also beileve that what makes a woman beautiful is her spirit, not the size of her jeans or her bra. I'm sick of cookie cutting and you should be too. If you want to wear your hair black and dress like a funeral director, do it...if you want to wear your faded jeans and your favorite t shirt, do it! EARTH TO MANKIND...shake it off! You can do it!! Make your own decisions....choose for yourself...only then can you be truely happy!
